Bob Brussack's SPOA Photos at Hendershot's

Old school skater Seth Hendershot, now a versatile percussion artist and entrepreneur, is featuring nine of my SPOA images on a wall of his new "Hendershot's" on Oglethorpe near the loop. Drop by some morning for a coffee or some evening for a brew and check out the display. The images have been prepared using a pretty amazing process called MetalPrints from SmugMug: "To create MetalPrints we infuse dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets, creating truly archival works of art. These MetalPrints showcase a revolutionary new medium that is highly durable, waterproof, weatherproof, and ultra scratch-resistant. The high-gloss sheen gives your photos a vibrant luminescence with incredible detail and resolution." It's the first time in awhile that I've been really excited about a new medium for displaying photographs. -- Bob

Athens Skatepark Defaced

Import8044

SPOA, the Skatepark of Athens GA, is closed today so the county can work to clean up spray-painted idiocy somebody applied to the concrete over the weekend. The vandalism has angered not only the county, but the members of the SPOA skate/bmx community, for many of whom the park is a home away from home and nearly sacred ground. Anyone having solid information concerning responsibility for the vandalism, let me know or pass the word to Kent Pearson. We'll get in touch with the authorities. -- Bob
